Brief Biographical Note

JORGE OLCINA CANTOS (Alicante, 1966) is Professor of Regional Geographic at the University of Alicante, where he teaches classes in Territorial Planning, Climatology and Natural Risks. He has focused his research on various geographic themes. He is the author or co-author of numerous publications (articles, book chapters and monographs). He has participated in several research projects on geographic and historical topics developed at the University of Alicante. Speaker at the International Year of Planet Earth (2008), declared by UNESCO. Guest professor at universities in Spain, Europe and Latin America. Member of the Editorial Board of various scientific journals of geographic and environmental issues. He is Principal Investigator of the Competitive Research Group of the University of Alicante in “Climate and Territorial Planning”, since 2002; and is part of the research team of the Competitive Research Groups of the University of Alicante in “History and Climate” and “Water and Territory”, also since 2002. He has been an evaluator of the 5th report of the IPCC on Climate Change of the United Nations. He has participated in the external evaluation process of PATIVEL (Territorial Action Plan for Green Infrastructure of the Coast of the Valencian Community). He is a member of the Advisory Council on Climate Change of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of the Valencian Regional Government

Brief Biographical Note

Celso Paiva Sol has been a journalist for 31 years, always working for the Renascença Multimédia Group. During this period he was responsible for editing and coordinating news teams and spaces, but also producing, planning and promoting information management content. As a simple journalist, whose job he is really comfortable with, are mainly in the area of safety, protection and relief. A vast area that focuses in particular on the political and operational activity of the Ministry of Home Affairs, but also concerns the area of Justice, Defense, Environment and Health.

He attended the course of social communication at the Porto School of Journalism, and, in order to improve his knowledge in the area he accompanies, he also attended several other training courses in the area of fire brigade and civil protection, security forces, legal medicine and meteorology, among others.
